SUMMARY
As a key member of the Core Marketing Team, the Marketing Manager, Core Business is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies designed to build the assigned product line and brand and to achieve annual operating plan profit and volume.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In conjunction with Director of Marketing on co-development and implementation of strategies, plans and programs to achieve strategic and tactical goals.

Enhance profitability of assigned product line and monitor product line marketing budget

Work collaboratively with CPD Sales team on execution of marketing plans, distribution drives and new product launches. Participate in key sales calls as appropriate

Work with Director of Marketing on co-development and management of day-to-day brand building programs for retail core product lines including advertising, consumer promotion, web and packaging communication.

Manage cross-functional teams to develop line extensions and implement product modifications

Provide strategic direction on packaging graphics in line with brand identity

Work collaboratively with Manufacturing and R&D on cost savings initiatives and product supply issues.

Identify industry, consumer and competitive trends and make recommendations for action plans and programs to address these issues.

Analyze A.C. Nielsen data and provide monthly summaries of key trends and implications. Use data to manage the business.

Present concepts, programs and projects to various management committees and prepare and present at annual sales meetings.

Provide forecasting input and direction to Demand Planning in support of Demand Planning process for assigned product line. As part of demand planning process, provide assumptions to annual business plan

Monitor quality complaints from consumer services and customers and work with R&D and manufacturing on corrective action. Attend weekly Grading Table meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage direct report(s) to facilitate product line success and successful development of personnel.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree (MBA) preferred.

· 3-8 years of CPG marketing experience required. At least two years at Marketing/Brand Manager level. New product/line extension experience required

· Proven track record of top and bottom line growth.

· Supervision of employees preferred,

· Cross functional team leadership required.

· Agency management experience and proficiency with P&Ls required.

Advanced understanding of syndicated data required. Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills required.

Some travel required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Syndicated data analysis (A.C. Nielsen, IRI), Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), presentation skills
