This position is responsible for the strategic innovation of product, service and channel offers, in order for the Credit Union to execute on a new product and promotional/marketing calendar throughout the year. This position will leverage the insights gathered and will manage the Innovation Project Management Specialist in order to build ideas into marketing programs and promotions to be carried out by Brand Communications.
Innovation Project Management Specialist
Achieve budgeted balance sheet and production targets with regard to consumer lending and deposit products
Assess current product portfolio, determining what gaps exist or products to sunset in order to meet members’ needs or satisfy market demand
Partner with the Innovation Project Management Specialist in order to get current promotions activated in marketplace
Work within Insights team to come up with new deposit, loan, service and channel offerings in order to build out an innovation calendar
Establish product and promotion ROI goals and present results to Senior Management
Partner with Marketing Manager of Product Activation to ensure products and promotions are successfully launched within marketplace
Work cross-functionally with Finance Team in order to determine optimal rates and profitability targets associated with product or promotion
Provide summaries and reports to Senior Management with the results of marketing programs/promotions
Participate in the strategic planning and budget process for all deposit and lending products
Coordinate all projects within budget parameters
Promote honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
Works with other credit union departments to insure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Product Development, Management and Innovation experience in Financial Services industry
Ability to think strategically
Ability to champion ideas and sell initiatives internally to upper management.
Extensive knowledge of deposit and loan products
Good working knowledge of financial institutions (Credit Unions and banks preferred)
Thorough understanding of competitive trends in the marketplace
Strong project management skills
Ability to work collaborate effectively across multiple business functions and vendors
Strong analytical skills – proven ability to measure success of products/promotions
Proven track record of developing a product pipeline/calendar
Ability to leverage internal insights/research to develop innovative ideas
Ability to present ideas and findings to Senior Executive Team
Ability to gather and document workflow requirements.
Must be able to be bonded.
In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time. Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities, prospective vendor site visits, or for training purposes.
5+ years experience in financial industry. 3+ years experience in Product Innovation/Product Management. MBA Preferred/Ideal
