Job Descriptions:
With significant market opportunity and aggressive growth objectives, Avalara’s Marketing Managers are tasked with planning and executing marketing programs to achieve aggressive lead generation goals, build the sales pipeline to directly correlate with company revenue objectives.

Job Duties:
In coordination with sales and channel management personnel, define, plan, coordinate, participate in, and evaluate marketing programs including traditional, online and emerging methods that incorporate push and pull tactics (trade shows, industry conferences, webinars and company events).

Plan, execute and report on direct marketing programs, including email campaigns, advertising and PR programs, and other promotional outlets focused on lead-generation and lead nurturing activities.

Ensure a closed loop lead management process with all marketing initiatives, working closely with sales on lead conversion through nurture strategies and ROI reporting.

Write, edit/update and publish content to the Avalara.com website, newsletters, and other outlets as needed.

Work with Avalara partners to develop and deploy through-partner marketing campaigns. Participate in public relations planning and execution, building relationship with industry influencers and media. Tasks may include writing press releases, submitting award nominations, submitting speaking proposals and managing a media calendar.

Deliver timely marketing and event plans that include success metrics and reports for defined marketing initiatives.

Develop tactics and content that support a defined marketing program and/or campaign.

Build extensive knowledge in defined product/solution areas and develop expertise with industry, product, partners and competitors.

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree. Degree in business, marketing, or communications preferred

Minimum of three years marketing experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent grasp of marketing, product management, and sales concepts

Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g. SalesForce) and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua) preferred

Working knowledge of computer basics including MS Office, and the ability to develop computerized presentations and utilize spreadsheets, word processing, and the internet

Ability to work well independently and productively collaborate within a team

Ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks, timelines and goals
