Horizon Milling has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager in its Wayzata, MN office! The Marketing Manager is the voice of the customer and consumers for Horizon Milling, managing marketing activities including developing market and consumer insights, managing new product and service development, creating compelling value propositions, creating customer communications, managing brands and enabling the sales team through tactics and tools. This person will work across Horizon Milling product lines, lead cross functional teams, work closely with Sales and R&D as well as with customers.

Principle Responsibilities / Duties:
30% - Planning

: Using organizational and management skills, oversee team resources, budgets, and lead development of compelling value propositions

30% - Implementing

: Using project and interpersonal management skills, ensure that all elements of product line objectives are achieved, including presentation to influencing both internal and external management

20% - Strategy:
Use business acumen to translate broad organizational goals and business situations into business specific objectives and strategies

10% - Analysis

: Use market knowledge, organizational and analytical skills to coordinate multiple complex marketing analyses leading to valid and accurate conclusions

10% - Measuring:
Using organizational and analytical skills, establish success criteria, metrics and tracking systems to assess results for business effectiveness


Required Skills


4-year degree in business or related field

Ability to consistently behave in accordance with Cargill values and ethics

5 or more years experience in for profit enterprises with a focus on marketing management

Proven strong business acumen-proven broad understanding of how functions and processes interact to create value.

Proven influencing skills in a large and complex organization

Very strong organization skills

Proven ability to execute and get things done-

Proven strong ability to think strategically

Proven strong analytical skills

Technical mastery of marketing

Proven communication skills, written and verbal

Preferred Skills:
MBA with a Marketing or general management emphasis

Knowledge of Cargill products and customers

Knowledge and experience with Cargill Marketing Academy tools or equivalent

Experience with the Retail Channel

5 or more years marketing experience
