The world's largest and New York's number one print and online free daily is currently seeking a “well rounded” Marketing Manager in their expanding New York offices that will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing plans to position Metro as the best non-traditional media to reach young, active Urbanites in New York, Boston and Philadelphia. This individual will report to the Director of Marketing & Research and work very closely with the sales and editorial department. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Be the owner of the Metro brand in the US, adapting global brand guidelines to fit the local conditions, and make Metro belong to the city
Plan and deliver all B2B activities to promote the right message to existing and potential advertisers, including marketing, online, events, advertising and case study development.
Supervise the production of all sales collateral – media kits, general presentation, sales sheets, editorial agenda and geo-mapping
Generate actionable insights from syndicated / proprietary research to drive sales argumentation, editorial & commercial product development and marketing activities
Execute all B2C activities to attract the right readers to our paper and website, including advertising, in-paper messaging, events, sponsorship, online
Manage & Develop Club Metro, the online database marketing program
Assist with executing various aspects of special events, sponsorship programs, client mailings, promotions , managing external vendors
Facilitate trafficking of all department-related invoices and manage costs for all projects
3-5 years’ experience in marketing within a fast paced media environment e.g. media owner, research / marketing agency or media agency
Bachelor’s degree required
Online marketing / database experience a plus
Possess strong analytical skills, outstanding organizational skills and stellar written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Be a self-starter, pragmatic & creative to get things done with limited resources
