Basic Description

We are looking for a Marketing Manager who is committed to success and who anticipates the challenge of working and growing with a leader.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide forward looking guidance for market research through identification of target market segments of strategic importance
  • Manage market research functions to define segments, assess segment size and growth potential
  • Interpret the results of market research on end users, industries and new markets to provide strategic recommendations for new product, market or channel development opportunities
  • Interpret the results of market research to validate segment strategic fit
  • Will be required to interact with other ITW Businesses involved in the target segment - filler metals, cutting, protective clothing, education materials, etc.
  • Performs and leads efforts in first phase of New Product Development (NPD) Tollgate - Discovery and Validation through Voice of Customer (VOC) with a cross functional team
  • Apply comprehensive market research to form clear customer specifications, ROI, positioning within the market and Miller Product Line, and marketing strategies based on customer value proposition, according to the NPD Process Guidelines
  • Leads efforts to perform Test Market and Roll Out of new welding systems - System Release Planning, Marketing Communications, and Sales Training Strategies in concert with application sales support team, sales team and training department
  • Explore new and alternate marketing vehicles to reach the target customers effectively – with an emphasis on expanding our utilization of the internet for marketing and support
  • Provide annual and long range strategic direction as it relates to marketing mix variables, develop and execute plans
  • Work with CPG Marketing team to develop and maintain annual marketing budget

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in Marketing preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Previous management experience leading cross-functional teams to common goals
  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues, end user needs and formulate market segmentation strategies
  • Proven success in developing and implementing marketing strategies
  • Proven experience managing multiple brands or channels
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and have the ability to direct primary and secondary research initiatives
  • Ability to translate results of research into a vision, business objectives and actionable plans
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships among employees, distributors, and key end users
  • Must be team player with positive attitude, high motivation and solid decision-making abilities
  • Must be very thorough, detail and completion oriented and able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Well organized, aggressive self-starter with the willingness to grow and learn
  • Great oral and written communication skills
