Job Summary:
Morgan Lewis is seeking a Marketing Manager for the Employee Benefits Practice Group (EB), who will be resident in the Philadelphia office. The Marketing Manager is a core administrative position whose primary responsibility will be to help formulate strategic practice development and marketing initiatives for the practice and the firm.

Reporting to the Firmwide Director of Marketing and Practice Development, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day practice marketing activities and implementing EB strategic business plans for expanding practice through marketing and practice development efforts, supporting attorneys and marketing/practice development colleagues with request-for-proposals and new business pitch responses, managing practice events and online webcast productions, and supporting practice group and firm marketing and public relations initiatives. This position will also be responsible for researching and creating client and industry briefing materials, drafting internal and external communications, including collateral materials, managing mailing lists, contact lists and client profiles, developing speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations, updating and maintaining content on EB portion of morganlewis.com, and collaborating with other marketing, communications and graphics team members to advance Firm goals.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, MBA or JD preferred, a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, business and practice development, or a related field, knowledge of the competitive landscape challenging major national law firms with substantial labor and employment practice, and a demonstrated capacity to implement strategic business plans. The candidate will also possess the ability to lead by example in their commitment to client service, the ability to manage the workload of the EB Coordinator position and allocate workload in an effective manner, the ability to function independently and effectively in a matrix organization, the ability to think proactively about the practice and the changing market for legal services, the ability to synthesize information into professional marketing communications, and the ability to work loosely with individual partners on their business development efforts, prioritize jobs in the queue, keep all stakeholders informed and up to date on activity etc. The candidate will possess a proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, spreadsheet, and database applications, excellent writing and presentation skills and an exacting attention to detail in all work product, and a collaborative work ethic and task flexibility due to a busy workload and occasional business travel. Prior strategic planning and management experience is preferred, law firm or professional services experience preferred, and government agency or judiciary experience considered a plus.
