Overview:

New York Public Radio seeks an individual to work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing to plan and execute innovative and opportunistic marketing programs that reinforce the WNYC/WQXR brands and programs, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space and multi-platform offerings, as well as its relevance to an audience that reflects New York City in all its diversity.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute multi-layered marketing plans that reach targeted audiences for New York Public Radio content, as well as trade audiences
  • Manage marketing campaigns and projects within budget
  • Successfully manage resources and deliverables to achieve desired outcomes
  • Provide leadership, clear communication and direction to station and third-party resources to deliver successful campaigns and promotions
  • Write copy for items such as marketing materials, company-wide communications, newsletters, promotions and events
  • Produce marketing materials, signage and digital collateral to support NYPR events
  • Conduct multi-platform marketing campaigns for events in The Greene Space that sell through tickets and reach a wide range of target audiences
  • Stay abreast of best practices and actively deploy targeted social media campaigns and tactics
  • Track success of multi-platform marketing campaigns and provide metrics and campaign recap reports
  • Oversee design and production of marketing materials for Membership, Development and Sales
  • Plan and buy media, including print, online, outdoor, transit, television, podcast and radio
  • Initiate media barter opportunities, negotiate agreements and manage barter relationships
  • Create and maintain a system of shared drives with marketing materials
  • Deploy Google ad words and other search engine marketing plans to drive traffic to WNYC.org and WQXR.org content and programming
  • Produce presentations, including Powerpoint, audio and video
  • Work with various shows on trade marketing and event marketing
  • Participate in execution of research projects and focus groups
  • Provide support for local market promotions
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of information, business and marketing plans

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required; degree in communications or marketing preferred
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, advertising and/or production in a multi-media environment
  • Experience in producing marketing, advertising or promotional materials required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social media marketing campaigns and practices required
  • Ability to be effective and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in marketing ticketed events, theater or performing arts events strongly preferred
  • Experience with developing marketing partnerships preferred
  • Design background and/or experience working closely with designers required
  • Knowledge of print/video/audio production
  • Must have prior production experience
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate the web environment self-sufficiently; ability to support online projects required
  • Basic competency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe In-Design preferred
  • Familiarity with production for print, marketing collateral, video/audio and online required
  • Proven budget management skills preferred
  • Familiarity with classical music desirable

  • Compliance with NYPR policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
