Under guidance from the Senior Marketing Manager, the position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a business and is the prime mover of initiatives. The position is responsible for both the development and execution of annual brand marketing plans that drive profitable growth. The key metrics the brand manager is responsible for meeting are: revenue growth, market share, fruit utilization and profit. The brand manager is expected to provide leadership both within the marketing function and across the enterprise for all opportunities and issues impacting the business. Responsible for overall management of strategic inputs to advertising, consumer promotions, and trade as well as the management of the brand P&L.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop annual marketing plans that meet the growth objectives of the organization.
2. Develop marketing personnel through coaching, appropriate supervision, and feedback.
3. Manage the advertising agency, where appropriate, and relevant third parties supporting the business.
4. Monitor and report on business performance monthly to senior marketing and corporate management.
5. Provide cross-functional leadership and direction to translate strategy into tactics and action.
6. Monitor all competitive activity and recommend actions as necessary to ensure achievement of revenue and market share goals.
7. Drive the Commercialization Strategies & Tactics for New Product Launches.
8. Owns the brand’s architecture and key consumer insights and for developing the brand brief.
9. Provides insights & recommendations to the development of the LRP.
10. Leads the Charter & Basis for Interest (BFI) process for new business opportunities including cost savings initiatives
Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level:
This role is responsible for managing the annual performance of a brand or business to achieve 4 major targets: revenue growth, market share, profitability, & fruit utilization targets. This position operates with some guidance and direction from a Director or Senior Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager is accountable to lead and direct all marketing management disciplines including; 1) Leading the annual marketing planning processes for the brand, 2) managing the development and execution of all marketing initiatives, 3) making recommendations to marketing management based on analysis of business results, competitive data, and consumer insight, 4) works closely with New Products Team on future growth opportunities and 5) plays a critical role in the development of the brand’s LRP. This position directly impacts the achievement of strategic objectives such as revenue growth, profit and market share and fruit utilization for the brand or business. Marketing Plans are reviewed and approved annually with the COO. Management review and approval is required prior to the presentation of annual marketing plans. Able to perform all routine brand /business management tasks with a minimum of supervision. Interacts with other peers and managers within the marketing group and other functions across the enterprise, including finance, operations, sales, and legal. Able to be an effective advocate for all brand/business issues across the enterprise. This role may manage an Assistant/Associate Marketing Manager directly and may be responsible for hiring decisions, disciplinary actions and salary recommendations.

Candidates must have an MBA and 5-8 years of experience in a consumer packaged goods brand management role. Candidates with brand management experience within a food or beverage company would be ideal.
