The Irrigation Division, located in Riverside, California, has an opening for a Marketing Manager for its residential and commercial business. The Irrigation Division is a market-leading provider of award winning, innovative irrigation products and services to wholesale distributors, professional contractors, commercial entities and homeowners.
This position works in concert with the Director of Marketing on strategic direction and has multifaceted responsibilities. The Marketing Manager will lead the implementation and development of Toro’s brand position, image and vision and will ensure that product development plans, pricing strategy, and marketing campaigns/materials are in line with that brand position. The Marketing Manager will have P&L responsibility for the Toro irrigation brand and oversee strategic and long-range plans of the business.
Responsibilities will include:
Oversight of P&L and balance sheet
Creation and execution of strategic plans
Product development – recommends product development priorities and leads new product development teams from creation through product launch; while meeting specifications, timelines and development budgets
Brand positioning – sets overall direction of creative blueprint, advertising and marketing communications
Promotion – develops push & pull marketing programs/materials for both new and existing products
Research – conducts market research and recommends products, product features or segments based on customer feedback and overall brand positioning goals
Pricing – performs pricing and costing analysis in support of profitability targets
Supervision – directly manages and coaches several individuals in addition to a matrixed support staff
Successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field. An MBA degree is a plus.
We require a minimum eight years of experience in a marketing capacity working with technical products and complex B2B marketing channels that involve distributors and professional contractors. Must have at least three years of experience managing direct reports and have had departmental responsibility for the P&L of a business. Experience in the irrigation or similar industry is highly desirable.
Candidate must have proven track record of exceptional leadership and teaming skills; the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, engineering and manufacturing is essential. In addition, candidate must be an excellent oral and written communicator, possess strong negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence/train customer groups and deliver dynamic presentations.
