Founded in 1986, YSA seeks to improve communities by increasing the number and diversity of young people (5-25) serving in substantive roles . Public Mobilization Campaigns , which marshal the energy of millions of young people across the globe to serve their communities;
YSA Grants and Awards , disbursing more than 1 million dollars annually to support youth-led community change initiatives around the world; and

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day promotion of YSA products, including YSA Grants, resources, trainings, and events. This newly created position will manage promotional communications with potential program participants and partners, recruit participants, and develop promotional content. The purpose of this position is to increase participation in YSA programs, strengthen the YSA brand, and raise the visibility of the youth service movement.The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Communications.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
Marketing & Promotions: Develop and manage multi-channel promotional plans for YSA initiatives. Develop systematic schedule and implementation of email blasts, social media promotions, and other promotional tactics. Coordinate the development of a marketing database. Initiate, create, and deploy emails to promote YSA products and activities. Through marketing and promotional tactics and based on YSA's program model, increase YSA's capacity to reach and engage youth in service and service-learning.
Content Development: Working across the organization, shape and edit descriptions of youth-led activities into stories that can be used for YSA promotion to diverse constituents.
Online Community Management: Maintain and manage select website content, ensuring that content is updated consistently and reflects the YSA brand. Work with the Communications department to contribute content to YSA's social media platforms, and leverage YSA's social media followings for promotional purposes.
Research, Analysis and Reporting: Track and report on the performance of YSA campaigns. Analyze metrics and make recommendations regarding effective promotional strategies. Research prospects and campaigns to better understand the needs and interests of YSA's audiences and potential audiences. Identify and cultivate relationships with new organizations, leaders, and individuals who may further YSA's mission and assist in promoting YSA's products.
Relationship Management: Prioritize effective communication, assisting programmatic colleagues in marketing the organization to program partners. Foster and develop strong relationships across the organization, building strategic partnerships with all departments.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
2 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, sales or related field; nonprofit experience preferred;
Proven skills in segmenting, targeting, database/list development and/or email marketing;
High degree of comfort working with technology, particularly email marketing systems such as Constant Contact. Knowledge of SEO strategies a plus;
Proven multi-tasker, sensitive to shifting priorities and tight deadlines;
Can work independently as well as collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to solve problems, analyze systems and data, and make suggestions for improvement.
Excellent organizational, planning and project management;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
As YSA is expanding its international presence, Spanish, Portuguese, or other second language skills strongly preferred.
