Marketing Manager

Overview:
The Manager Marketing is responsible for developing Offline media and Local Marketing strategies, and executing them to increase brand awareness and improve demand generation efforts for the company. The Marketing Manager will provide critical support to the Marketing Team for all offline advertising, print production, and sales-related initiatives. The Manager should be a detail-oriented and creative marketer, who wants to help inspire innovative marketing ideas to build the athenahealth brand while drive more effectiveness and efficiency into demand generation campaigns. This individual will have direct reports.

Job responsibilities:
  • Work with media agency to select cost effective and efficient national media that provides extensive reach, ultimately resulting in increased awareness among the physician and c-level audience (media mix to include radio, direct mail, out of home and print advertising )
  • Think cross-functionally and drive an offline strategy into integrated marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with other Marketing team members to execute programs related to events, tradeshows and partnerships
  • Develop and execute regional and local advertising programs
  • Measure and report on success of campaigns, including full marketing/sales funnel analysis through CRM system
  • Lead transition to a new online sales portal and work to integrate with CRM
  • Oversee Marketing Communications to sales team, including weekly updates, regular meeting attendance, and inventory monitoring
  • Assess sales team needs and produce appropriate materials (collateral, direct mail campaigns, etc.) to support their efforts
  • Manage and build effective relationships with multiple vendors (agency, printers, lettershop, designers, etc. )
  • Maintain and track offline media and production budgets
  • Manage 1-2 direct reports
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience and skills in the following areas:
  • Marketing to a Business-to-Business audience
  • Offline media planning, negotiating and placement
  • Strong understanding of Direct Marketing metrics and the associated processes involved with monitoring and managing program effectiveness, including experience launching test programs and leveraging information to enhance strategic or tactical approaches
  • Negotiating and managing external vendors
  • Experience with developing highly functional teams that consistently overcome obstacles and achieve goals
  • Deep collaboration skills, particularly with colleagues from other internal departments that need to contribute to program development, and/or execution
  • Previous experience managing people

  • Ability to execute programs on time and on budget
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree required
  • 8 + years marketing/advertising work experience, health care industry experience a plus
  • Agency experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and CRM disciplines (including sales process optimization, customer segmentation, targeting, and direct marketing )
  • Salesforce knowledge a plus
