This position is responsible for maximizing the capability of our US marketing spend (~$500MM) through the use of strategic sourcing methodologies and process. A strong focus on creating joint value partnerships with internal stakeholders and RB’s external supplier base is critical for success in this role. Strong communication and influencing skills will be vital for success in RB’s non-mandated and decentralized global environment.
Analyze local portfolio of marketing expenditures, identify, prioritize and deliver opportunities in terms of savings and cost avoidance (i.e. in store displays, agency reviews, etc.) with a 15% savings target for 2013.
Build/rebuild the roster of advertising and communication production including (atl, digital, content factory, etc)
Manage all aspects of the strategic sourcing of projects consisting of cross functional and regional teams including strategy development
Partner with key internal stakeholders to identify business needs and strategic directions to provide best external strategic solutions. Develop and implement forward-thinking initiatives to enhance responsiveness
Provide robust project management ensuring all dates and commitments are met - Lead the end to end supplier selection process to deliver key opportunities. Take ownership for contract formation. Monitor implementation along agreed guidelines to ensure exceptional service at lowest total cost.
Leverage and negotiate pricing on combined volumes of purchases prioritizing savings opportunities and taking a unified approach across all purchasing entities/sites to get the lowest possible total cost; concentration on cost savings.
Provide local Purchasing support for the execution of Regional/Global marketing projects.
Achieve cost reduction targets as defined by the NA Marketing Leadership team in coordination with Senior RB Management.
Develop, establish, and coordinate RFPs on major categories of marketing spend. Partner with key suppliers to create solutions and cost proposals, evaluate & select suppliers, and manage contracts for key stakeholders.
Work with category stakeholders and business partners to implement procurement policies and procedures
Minimum of 5-8 years of demonstrated procurement experience in a multinational CPG/FMCG company.
BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field. MS/MBA, CPM certification & SAP preferred
Experience with Marketing Agencies, Programs, Services and Media is highly regarded as is knowledge/ experience in the Media/ Communications Sector.
Cross-functional leadership required. Should be a strong integrator, with working knowledge in Operations, QA, Supply Chain Management, RD&E, Media, Marketing, Advertising and Shared Services.
