Position Summary:
Bluestem Brands is seeking an analytical and data savvy individual to join a growing Market Research team. As a Market Research Analyst , you will use your curiosity and passion for market research to help continue the positive growth of three unique retail brands under one roof: Fingerhut, Gettington.com and PayCheck Direct.

This role supports the Market Research Team with the execution of primary research projects—both qualitative and quantitative—including sampling, questionnaire development, data collection and fieldwork monitoring, data analyses, and reporting. Research projects generally focus on competitive and consumer insights, trends for use in developing marketing strategies and credit product enhancements, brand equity, advertising effectiveness, and the Customer Experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Participate in quantitative, qualitative, and secondary research studies as required to meet varying needs of stakeholders across the business.

Collaborate on the overall data strategy for each internal survey execution.

Manage sample requests for the department.

Coordinate, program, and test online surveys.

Launch online surveys and monitor responses.

Download, clean, and code survey data files.

Maintain and analyze existing data to answer key business questions.

Work with Research Manager to develop comprehensive recommendations demonstrating insight, creativity, and neutrality.

Periodic review and analysis of the external consumer, industry and competitive landscape.

Required Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY:
2-5 years of in data analysis and/or market research experience.

Strong analytical and data management skills.

Proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel and Word; Survey software and video editing tools a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, economics, statistics or similar discipline.

SKILL PREFERENCES – HOW YOU CAN STAND OUT:
Consumer research knowledge - Understand a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques available to address business needs

Demonstrate experience with survey design and development.

Demonstrate experience with survey programming using online tools..

Creative thinking and ability to integrate and apply learning from multiple sources.

Ability to clearly communicate research findings and implications in a concise manner.

Set strong examples through work product, attitude, technical skills, and project management tools/philosophies used.

Experience with data analysis tools such as SPSS or SAS.

Love of both data analysis and personal interaction.
