The Marketing Services business at Chegg is an area of high growth for the company, and represents almost unlimited potential over the next five years. The group is composed of two teams – one focuses on delivering engagement marketing to colleges and universities and the other (Brand Partnerships) helps the fortune 500 with their marketing communications strategies to students.
BP Marketing Solutions Director
This role is for the Director of Marketing Solutions for Brand Partnerships, and will sit on the Marketing Services leadership team, reporting to the VP of Business Development. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our rapidly growing marketing solutions business. We're looking for a high energy, passionate candidate with exceptional marketing strategy, communication, project and people management skills.
The role will be focused on creating our B2B marketing capabilities – handling the full scope of marketing solutions including strategy, story telling, PR, thought leadership, research, and events. Responsibilities include:
Architect strategy to put Chegg on the map with fortune 500 marketers and madison ave as the #1 partner for connecting with students 16 to 24.
Develop decks and other sales tools to empower media sales organization and executive team to clearly and persuasively communicate Chegg’s benefits for marketers;
Develop research strategy to continually position Chegg as leader in understanding 16 to 24 year olds; partner with internal and external teams to deliver compelling insights from qualitative and quantitative research/analytics
Develop thought leadership strategy to create consistent drum beat in media world regarding Chegg’s leadership in youth marketing
Partner with internal and external corporate communications resources to establish and execute industry leading public relations effort including aggressive social activation
Develop go to market strategies and execution through highly scalable direct communication channels such as webinars, webcasts and web presence;
Develop and execute appropriate events strategy
Extend all marketing efforts through social media channels;
Build out a team of marketing professionals.
BA or BS degree (advanced business degree a plus).
10 + years in marketing; preference for media / advertising vertical experience
5+ years of experience with online, digital media.
Experience working in high-growth, performance-focused environments and with sales teams as a key stakeholder.
Well-rounded experience across all marketing channels and levers – from storytelling to scaled communications to event execution and client engagement.
A passion for results and for applying a quantitative approach to marketing.
Social media experience a plus.
Good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research.
Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
Experience with senior management.
Prior people management experience necessary.
