Reports to: Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Position summary: Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications, and working closely with the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team, the Marketing Specialist will manage the day to day marketing activities and long term marketing strategy for the organization. She/he will work with the team on: marketing and promotion, revenue-generation for all products and services, and brand development. As a key member of the MarCom team, the Marketing Manager will participate in department staff and planning meetings to develop and carry out organization-wide goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing marketing campaigns and activities within the Marketing and Communications department
Coordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities
Working with VP for Marketing and Communications on developing marketing strategy and managing marketing budget(s) for our products and services (particularly in-person trainings, webinars, and our subscription databases)
Managing the creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans
Working collaboratively and cross-departmentally (i.e., with Business Development, Web Services, and Social Sector and Outreach units of the organization) on bringing products to market
Planning and implementing special promotional campaigns and sales offers
Managing and improving lead generation campaigns, measuring and analyzing campaign results
Shared responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
Preparing online and print marketing campaigns
Monitoring, analysis, and reporting on effectiveness of marketing communications
Working closely with in-house design staff and external agencies
Assisting with new product launches
Effectively communicating with internal stakeholders to ensure that all relevant functions are kept informed of marketing objectives
Researching and analyzing potential strategic partnership opportunities


Strong Microsoft Office Skills
Experience working with Email Software Programs (ie CheetahMail)
Experience with HTML, CRM, Web Content Management tools
Experience with Google Analytics, Google Adwords
Solid understanding of SEO, SEM, and PPC
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business and strategic marketing
Experience with strategy development and implementation
Strong writer with experience developing messaging for a wide range of target audiences
Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to keep projects on plan and on budget
Problem-solver with a can-do attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues at all levels of an organization
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills
This team player must be flexible, enthusiastic, and possess an energetic personality. The ability to balance a process-driven approach while generating innovative ideas is imperative.


Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or public relations
Minimum of five years marketing experience (organization, agency or consultant)
Familiarity with the nonprofit sector preferred, but not mandatory
Strong creative outlook
Experience in consulting or marketing professional services, B-to-B arena preferred
