Manage the marketing and communication functions for Starfish Family Services, including agency branding, print collateral, website, social media, press releases, photos, media packets, and management of relationships with external marketing and communication partners.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree required; business, marketing, communications or related concentration preferred.
Minimum of ten years’ experience in marketing and communications required.
Nonprofit experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Strong computer skills working with MS Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively work with donors, volunteers, media contacts, clients and staff in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
Experience in identifying and executing marketing, media and communications opportunities that would benefit the organization.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, function independently and demonstrate good follow through
Experience in successfully managing multiple tasks within productive time frames.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated and exceptional writing and communication skills including drafting of press releases.
Experience in maintaining accurate statistical / financial records and reports.
Ability to work limited nights and/or weekends for special events.
Ability to work cooperatively and productively with supervisor, colleagues, board members, and all other agency personnel
Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality of all appropriate information.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead development and implementation of an agency marketing plan and budget, leveraging limited resources for maximum impact. Set goals and report outcomes.
Execute an overall media strategy including development of media relationships to feature stories and opeds so that the “story of Starfish” is shared extensively and strategically.
Prepare and execute marketing plans and campaigns that are consistent with the agency’s brand and strategic vision.
With assistance from partners, define the Starfish brand and brand positioning, including identification of key messages for prioritized constituents.
Develop and execute new concepts, business models, channels and partners to position the agency as an innovator and leader.
Manage with appropriate partners to ensure a “best in class” website for the agency.
Create newsletters, agency brochures, annual report, direct mail pieces, and other collateral material supporting external marketing and communications efforts.
Lead efforts on press release content, production and distribution.
Research and generate client stories for newsletters and other publications.
Create and maintain a Speakers Bureau of both expert staff and client speakers.
Develop and execute strategies for social media that engage the multiple constituents of the agency.
Manage relationships with third party vendors who will support the agency from a marketing and communication perspective.
Manage marketing intern program with local universities.
Work with all program teams within the agency to provide support as appropriate to ensure that all marketing materials are consistent with agency standards.
Provide assistance with special event projects, including holiday activities and fund raising events as requested by the Chief Development Officer.
Engage with other nonprofits and family service agencies to ensure that Starfish marketing and communication policies and strategies are competitive.
Attend all agency and departmental meetings and trainings as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate for this position will be required to provide 3 letters of recommendation, satisfactorily complete a drug screen, TB test, national and state background check and DHS clearance (additional items may be required dependent upon position).
Minimum rate: $22.60 - $25.71 / hour
