Scope of Position:
Creates the long term aggregate capacity analysis for the plant, using inputs from Commercial, Engineering, Operations, Innovation Project Leadership and Financial Controllers. Ensures plan is refreshed monthly based on financial performance, market needs, and operational performance. Develops alternate scenarios to determine impact on business and presents options for Plant Leadership. Drives for the right balance between customer service level and cost in order to achieve the strategy of the plant.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Recommends which product or product lines should be manufactured at the plant. Builds rough cut capacity planning analysis, or long term aggregate demand plan for use in Deep Dive and major investment decisions. Recommends the start-up, idling or shutdown of assets to best accomplish multiple capacity requirements including customer demand, engineering experimentation, asset repairs, innovation project capacity requirements, and financial metrics. Collaborates with Commercial, Engineering, Innovation groups to allocate factory capacity to customers to best accomplish the plant strategy. Manages aggregate inventory levels across the plant to budget or approved plan. Collaborates with Finance function to optimize costs, margin, and cash flow. Facilitates decision making by leadership through modeling of different scenarios of demand and/or manufacturing capability. Collaborates with Procurement resources to insure raw material delivery for product plans and long term supplier management. Communicates and aligns production plan (Master Production Schedule) (Rough Cut Capacity Planning). Collaborates with Financial, Operations, and Commercial Leadership for SKU rationalization.
Customer service (Ship to Request, Ship to Promise, Order Confirmation); overall customer satisfaction measure(s). Plant costs, profitability and cash flow. Overall plant capacity and asset utilization. Inventory aggregate dollar levels to budget, Days of Supply or Inventory Turns. Logistics costs (Inbound and outbound freight; transportation costs between factories). Cost of warehousing. Total order-to-deliver cycle times.
Travel Requirements : 0 - 10%
Bachelor of Science (Engineering or Technical), or 4 year degree in Business, Economics or Logistics.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
3-5 years experience in plant scheduling, logistics or supply chain functions. Experience in operations, engineering, or supply chain/logistics with progressive responsibilities. Understand what impact manufacturing cost and how to positively influence. Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross functional team.
APICS certification is a must. Strong leadership Skills Collaboration and team spirit Strong Communication skills Process oriented
Experience across multiple plants or multiple functions. Experience with cross functional collaboration. Experience with new product introduction. Experience with enterprise data systems (e.g.: SAP, supply chain).
