DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for managing the master production schedule for MFI in a manner that optimizes cost, quality, and service. The master production scheduling process at MFI includes managing plant production capacities and creating and executing global inventory strategies. The Master Scheduler is also responsible for planning the deployment/distribution of finished goods inventories at multiple distribution centers within MFI's distribution network, including consignment warehouses and MFI vendor managed inventories. This position requires significant interaction with many different functional departments across MFI, including: operations, customer service, and distribution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop the master production schedule to optimize inventory, cost, quality, and customer service levels at MFI.
Aligned with business managers, assist in development of long range/strategic inventory and production levels.
Deploy product to execute distribution plans to optimize transportation and distribution efficiencies.
Plan inventories to meet daily needs of customers ensuring optimal fill rates and inventory turns while minimizing distress products.
Participate in stage-gate activities for new product introductions. Coordinate phase-in of new products and phase-out of discontinued products.
Maintain master data in SAP relating to MRP and planning.
Monitor and facilitate resolution on product availability issues for customer orders.
Coordinate with plant operations to assure production is synchronized with the master schedule.
Maintain and present KPI’s reflecting master schedule and inventory performance.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Three plus years manufacturing, distribution, or inventory planning experience in the food industry.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
APICS Certification or working knowledge of S&OP/MRP/DRP concepts preferred.
SAP experience preferred.
Detail-oriented; self-motivated; a strategic, logical and analytical thinker.
Ability to focus on business process and project goals. Able to prioritize to achieve business objectives.
Ability to analyze information and provide fact-based recommendations.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to interact with all functions of the company required.
