University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks adjunct faculty members to teach hybrid sections of the AMBA 610 course, The Manager in Organizations and Society, at our Quantico, VA site for the award-winning Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program in The Graduate School. The new adjunct faculty member will join one of the largest online institutions in the world, serving a global student population. AMBA 610 The Manager in Organizations and Society (6 Credits)
An exploration of the responsibilities and influence that 21st-century managers have within their organizations and the global society. Essential concepts and theories that provide a foundation for the study of business administration and management—including systems thinking, critical thinking, ethical decision making and leadership, legal concepts, corporate social responsibility, and organizational theory and design—are examined.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
IMMEDIATE NEEDS: Local candidates who can teach hybrid sections at our Quantico, VA location.
- An earned doctorate or terminal degree in business management or a related field is required. A combination of a JD degree and a business management degree is ideal for teaching AMBA 610.
- Relevant professional managerial experience in corporate communities/industries and government agencies is required.
- Prior experience in teaching and in distance education at the graduate level and with adult, part-time students established in their careers is required.

SALARY: Commensurate with adjunct faculty rank.
