A Material Handler is responsible for the shipping, receiving, transporting, and storage of ingredients, production materials and finished goods for the facility.

Must be able to learn the warehousing system, how to stack, utilize the system accurately to assure proper inventory count and location of materials for future production and restacking of pallets

Load, unload, and store deliveries in a safe manner following OSHA and company guidelines

Observes all safety rules and regulations. Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to General Manufacturing Practices and Safety Guidelines

Enters necessary documentation/paperwork of delivery receipts or material handling into the company's computer system

Maintains accurate counts of inventory, ensure that all materials are organized and rotated properly to support the Food Safety Program

Verifies all deliveries/ discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt. Inspect for potential contamination, damage or rodent activity

Identifies, addresses, and notifies Team Leader of product and processing problems in a timely manner

Maintains forklifts by performing daily routine safety and operating inspections

Ensures that all production areas are supplies with materials and product in a timely manner

Proper labeling of dates and open/partial packaging

Performs other job related duties assigned by Team Leader

Assists in orientation/ training of new associates on assigned tasks as requested

What do I need to be considered a candidate?
A Material Handler must have a High School Diploma or GED

Must posses basic math and computer skills

Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be certified or licensed to operate a forklift and hand truck

Has an awareness of and the ability to follow General Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Associate Safety Guidelines.

Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Improvement and Teams

Proficiency in computerized inventory systems (MRPII, QAD, SAP, and SCADA) may be required

Must have knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures

Material handling experience, has or will attain material handling operator's certification

Must be able to manage multiple projects, make works plans, and consistently meet deadlines

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Employee regularly required standing, reaching, bending, walking, climbing, and moving about the facility

Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area

Vision abilities include depth perception, close, distance, and peripheral visions

Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity

Works at floor level on concrete floors, above floor level and in freezers

May handle and are frequently exposed to hazardous and heavy equipment and materials

Most work done on lift trucks and fork trucks

Able to work in a multi shift environment

Will be required to work around bakery ingredients as part of daily activities
