As a Material Handler on the shop floor at Savage River Inc, in Columbia, MO you will have responsibility for packaging a high quality plant protein product and ensuring all food safety and production processes are fulfilled. You will be given the opportunity to apply your previous manufacturing experience to ensure smooth daily operations while increasing the effectiveness of the production group. Reporting directly to the line lead, you will be tasked with the daily operations such as packaging products, maintaining equipment, documenting processes and workplace safety. In addition, you will be a key contributor in the set-up of new product lines and processes. Your knowledge of GMP requirements and will help ensure our compliance with GMP standards. Your understanding of manufacturing principles will support our lean manufacturing environment. Your excellent organizational and communication skills combined with your ability to solve problems will ensure that you quickly determine effective processes and policies to support our operations while also identifying and recommending improvements to processes, policies and/or procedures. A hands-on, flexible attitude is essential to this position. Flexibility will be beneficial for this first shift opportunity working Monday-Thursday from 6am-430pm as you communicate cross functionally to ensure that the needs for your area are met. Your prior experience should include manufacturing, ideally in food service environment. A high school graduate with food service, food manufacturing or other relevant experience would be ideal for this role with a starting pay range of $10 per hour.
