The Material Handler is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of receiving, delivering, moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting production and non-production parts. The Material Handler is also accountable for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, carts, scooters and may also be required to perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to his or her normal job responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Unloads inbound and loads outbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
Stacks and stores materials in designated areas using a forklift, Tug, or other powered equipment.
Prepares products for shipment.
Performs picking duties in an efficient manner meeting customer service standards
Moves materials from staging and/or storage areas into material cribs, production areas or shipping trailer.
Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
Assists in physical inventories.
Conducts cycle counts as requested
Job Related & Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or pull 30 lbs without restriction
Must be able to work in varying facility conditions.
Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
Minimum Experience, Education, and Training Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current or past CDL
Crane experience (overhead, boom etc)
Forklift experience on both sit down and stand up reach forklift and/or using warehouse distribution equipment.
Tug or heavy forklift experience.
Willingness to become forklift certified
Attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
