BAE System is seeking to hire an experienced Material Planner for its Ship Repair Operations in Norfolk Virginia.The Material Planner is responsible for requisitioning of material that has been identified by work item specification(s) or referenced drawing(s), tech manual(s), CFR(s), or shop leadmen .

Maintain positive control of material ordered to ensure material requirements will meet availability milestones.

Verify material being ordered is covered by the scope of work thereby prompting the requirement for generating report(s) / sequence(s) as required.

The Material Planner is responsible for assisting shop leadmen in identifying and resolving material problems. Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalence
Required Experience: Minimum five (5) years in the ship repair or equivalent industry with one (1) year experience with material planning, purchasing or estimating preferred. Required Skills:
This position requires good written and verbal communication skills.

Must have the ability to read and interpret navy drawings and tech manuals.

Must have knowledge of various military & industry specifications.

Ability to demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products.

Previous experience with Costpoint (or SAP), Cognos, IHS Haystack and familiar with Internet search engines is a plus.
