Duties and Responsibilities

ASU Materials Management seeks Material Handlers. Examples of duties performed by these positions include, but are not limited to:

Receive, process and deliver parcels/mail/freight/gas cylinders/surplus property; provide customer service and problem resolution; load and unload delivery truck/box truck/van; heavy lifting/moving daily (20-70 pounds); operate stake side delivery truck, van, forklift, pallet jack, hand cart; stock shelves; fill orders; verify written orders/packing slip; use hand-held scanner and other computer systems; comply with all established safety guidelines; clerical tasks for documentation and record keeping, inventory receiving and tracking; other related duties as assigned

DAYS AND SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week. Monday-Friday different shifts 5:00AM-5:00PM

Minimum Qualifications

One year of shipping/receiving experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. All positions require possession of current Arizona driver's license (class D or C-commercial Driver's License with hazardous material endorsement) upon employment. Candidates selected for position must not have had any moving violations in the past 12 months.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with: customer service; mail, shipping, receiving and freight; using a forklift, pallet jack, and hand cart; using a package tracking handheld device and shipping/mailing software systems; preparing shipping and receiving documents; safety procedures related to warehouse environment; operating large vehicles. Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems.
