Duties:
Major Duties will include but are not limited to:
Periodically reviews stock based on turnover rate and space availability and recommending increases or decreases as appropriate.
Maintains proper storage of items after processing pending delivery to appropriate storage selection by organizing, arranging, and assembling items by usage areas.
Maintains stock in a clean and orderly condition, free of deterioration, damage, infestation, and pilferage.
Applies and demonstrates the proper skill required for the safe handling, storage, and movement of materials
Monitors stock levels in all sections to assure maximum equipment efficiency.
Applies specialized knowledge of warehouse plans, methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling.
Maintains proper storage requirements of various pharmaceuticals and hazardous materials.
Loads and unloads shipments from trucks, flatbeds, and other material conveyances independently using a broad knowledge of warehouse plans and without direct supervision.
Verifies and logs receipt, matches shipping documents and receipts with incoming pharmaceutical related supplies.
Maintains accurate inventory levels and routinely spot checks a representative amount of items each week to determine balance with stock records.
Verifies that merchandise received fully agrees with descriptions, quantity, etc, on the receiving report and that each item has the appropriate stock number indicated.
Processes and independently completes all shipping and receiving documents to insure correctness of qualities, identification criteria, and labeling.
Uses forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, and other loading and storage mechanisms as needed.
Uses automated equipment such as optical readers, scanners, and computer terminals to load computerized inventory data, access inventory information, and fill item requisitions.
Selects storage location, rotates stock as appropriate, and places on storage racks, pallets, or shelves according to approved storage methods, while using mechanized and electro mechanical warehouse vehicles including forklifts, tugs and storage/retrieval vehicles.
Stocks supplies for the automated tablet counting equipment, automated unit of use dispensing equipment, and individual requests in the bulk dispensing area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hour shift to be set by supervisor between the hours of 6:00AM - 4:30 PM.

What is a VA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP)? A CMOP is a centralized, highly automated prescription filling operation utilizing assembly line techniques, robotics, and software interfaces and automated filling systems to produce an accurately filled prescription, within accepted pharmaceutical practices, packaged for delivery to our nation’s veterans.

Qualifications & Evaluations

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all the requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Promotion Potential: The full performance level of this position is WG-05.
Time-In-Grade Restriction: There are no Time-In-Grade restrictions for this Wage Grade position.
Specialized Experience WG-05 level: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (WG-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Physical Requirements for Position: Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Incumbent is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock. The work may require wearing protective clothing such as steel-toed shoes, hardhat, and other safety equipment as necessary.
