Hawaii Air National Guard

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:
This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the

National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the

National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

LOCATION:
154th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii.

RECRUITMENT AREA:
Present enlisted members (E-5 and below) of the US Armed Forces within the State of Hawaii.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The primary purpose of the position is to perform warehouse inspection, storage, and inventory of a wide variety of supply and equipment items, classified and sensitive items, and War Consumables Distribution Objective (WCDO) items.

• Receives and processes notice to stock parts and equipment. Stores all in-warehouse supply and equipment items.

• Conducts periodic validation of warehouse locations.

• Selects items to be issued and/or shipped and transfers them to the Cargo Movement Element for subsequent delivery/shipment.

• Inspects all classes of property for which the USPFO Accountable Officer has responsibility and/or accountability.

• Monitors material suspect program to eliminate possible hazards or substandard material.

• Identifies incomplete items.

• Manages the Precious Metals Recovery Program (PRMP).

• Assists in formulating policies and procedures to ensure proper management, security, and control of all supplies and equipment in storage.

• Manages unserviceable holding area.

• Trains all supply personnel requiring an inspector’s stamp or those performing inspector duties, by signature.

• Assists in providing bench stock support to customer organizations.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods at a time. Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment that weigh up to 70 pounds. May handle items that weigh over 70 pounds. Hand trucks, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside. May work in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. May be required to work outside, subject to inclement weather. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. May be exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, falls from ladders or other injury from mechanical conveyer systems or other material handling equipment. Will be required to wear personal protective items to ensure safety in accordance with AFOSH standards while working with hazardous materials.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

GENERAL Experience:
Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the applicant’s ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using handtrucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other handtools; and to follow oral and written instructions.

SPECIALIZED Experience:
Must have at least 9 months of specialized experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY POSITION:
Prior to placement in this position, the selected candidate must be assigned to a valid position in the unit of employment, and be assigned militarily in DAFSC 2S051, Supply, Materiel Management Specialist.

SUBSTITTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of on year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. To be creditable, applicants must submit transcripts, diplomas or other forms of completion certifications to provide verification of related courses.

NOTES TO APPLICANTS:

b. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor.

c. This temporary limited appointment may be converted to a non-temporary appointment without further competition.

d. If you are selected for this position, you will be eligible for health and life insurance and you will be covered under a retirement system.

e. Permanent change of station (PCS) expenses may not be authorized for this position. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted only after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Hawaii National Guard.

f. This type of appointment is expected to extend beyond one year. Separation will be preceded by a 30-day notice when services are no longer needed. Permanent technicians will remain on permanent status if selected.

g. In addition to your application, documents of last performance appraisal must be submitted. If the performance appraisals are not available, documents of past civilian performance, letter of recommendations, and or military performance may be submitted. These documents will be evaluated as part of the selection process.

h. Applicants may be screened and evaluated on military attributes directly related to the compatible military position required to be assigned into, such as, but not limited to, military bearing, leadership, or ability to work with others (teamwork) in a military environment.

i. Final selection will be based upon qualifications, suitability, and available manpower resources.
