MEMBERSHIP IN THE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD IS REQUIRED: This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in the Idaho Army National Guard as a condition of employment. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.

Military requirement: Enlisted
This job is located in a National Guard maintenance facility, warehouse, training site, supply or support type facility. Its purpose is to oversee one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility.
(1) Performs the full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Develops, or assists in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow. In larger warehouse facilities, the incumbent typically develops storage and space utilization plans in accordance with regulations for a specific commodity or equipment group. In hazardous materials storage areas, incumbent insures the safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances such as ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. In smaller warehouses, the incumbent may serve as the senior nonsupervisory worker of the facility, laying out storage space, establishing item locations, determining organization and arrangement of stock, and identifying high and low usage items. May serve as the senior member of a warehouse project team of material handlers involved in a special project such as relocating a major commodity or equipment group, or setting up a new commodity group area.
(2) May coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials with docking area and scheduling personnel to facilitate movement in accordance with priorities, scheduling requirements, and space allocations. May operate large warehouse perimeter vehicles such as cargo tractors, stake trucks, and jumbo tugs.
(3) Performs other duties as assigned.
Work involved in receiving, storing, and assembling for issue, shipment, and distribution, a wide variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, or commodities using mechanized, automated, and manual material moving equipment, devices, and systems. Most work requires the incidental or regular use of for lifts and motor vehicles.
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions.

Within your application package, you must explain how you gained the specialized experience required for this position. Applicants applying at the WG 06 level must have 18 months experience or training demonstrating the ability to store, organize and/or rotate a variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities. Familiar with basic warehouse procedures. Experience in determining quantities of inventory items. Experience in following oral and written instructions.
Experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
SUBSTITUTION EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Study completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.

Acceptance of any military technician position over 179 days will cause termination of entitlement and eligibility for all bonuses and student loan repayments effective the date of employment. This does not affect Montgomery GI Bill eligibility. Payments of Selected Reserve reenlistment bonuses authorized in section 308b of title 37, United States Code, to Military Technicians (Dual Status) who become eligible for reenlistment while serving on active duty in Iraq, Afghanistan or Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom (in theater) are excluded from repayment. Acceptance of any military technician position may affect your incentive bonus. Check with your incentives manager to see if this applies to the incentive you received.
