NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION : This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 2 Only . Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; and Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1.
INTRODUCTION : This position is located in a National Guard maintenance facility, warehouse, training site, supply or support type facility. Its purpose is to oversee one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility. KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Performs a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, unloading, storing, selecting and shipping bulk and bin materials and equipment. Assists in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow. Performs classification inspections for material and ensures formal accountability when receiving storing and/or issuing. Prepares a variety of supply documents and reports. Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within docking area. Prepares and processes inventory and production reports, screens and identifies shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies, and directs shipments to shipping or storage areas. Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts and disposes of a wide variety of materials and property. Prepares property for shipment, distribution and storage. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms. Skill in using handtrucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock. Ability to use hammers, pliers, and other handtools and to follow oral and written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-06 must have at least 9 months experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.
Other Requirements : Must be able to pass an operator's test for forklift equipment up to 10,000 pounds.
COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS : All applicants will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to and qualify in a compatible military position. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technical school training in a military status. Compatible assignments include: ECMF: 91; EMOS: 36B, 51C, 74B, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92G, 92Y.

PHYSICAL EFFORT : Incumbent often stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Work involves bending, stooping and working in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. May lift and carry items that weigh up to 70 pounds. The heavier items are moved with material handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Works inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. Incumbent is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized conveyor systems. May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and solvents and to high noise levels in working areas. When working in hazardous material areas, the incumbent may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards or chemical fumes. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as hard hats, steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks and rubber aprons.
