MINNESOTA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD This position is located in the United States Property & Fiscal Office (USPFO-MN) Warehouse. Its purpose is to oversee one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility.

This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible MOS in the Minnesota Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Performs the full range of warehousing
activities to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping of general or
specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Develops, or assists in the
development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine
warehouse configurations, setup, movements, rearrangement and traffic flow. In
larger warehouse facilities, the incumbent typically develops storage and space
utilization plans in accordance with regulations for specific commodity or
equipment group. In hazardous materials storage areas, incumbent insures the safe
receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances
such as ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in
accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. In smaller warehouses,
the incumbent may serve as the senior non-supervisory worker of the facility,
laying out storage space, establishing item locations, determining organization
and arrangement of stock, and identifying high and low usage items. Performs
other duties as assigned.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the
ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue
request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move
stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral
and written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in receiving, packaging,
and preparation for shipment. Experience
in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements,
and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage
locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space,
production turnover, etc.
COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: CMF 91, MOS 36B, 51C, 74B, 88M/N, 89A/B,
MILITARY COMPATIBILITY: Upon selection, individual must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota National Guard.
Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority. Suitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access. Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility.
EVALUATION FACTORS: Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of appropriate education, experience, training, self-development activities, and special awards. Candidates are considered on the basis of available information on their current application and supporting information that has been provided to this office. To ensure full consideration, applicants are urged to submit information about their training, self-development, outside experience, activities and awards. National Guard military (Part-time) service is considered as full-time experience when evaluated against the qualification requirements for a technician position. The applicant is credited with actual number of months the member has been in the National Guard if the experience is related.

Area 2: Career/Career-Conditional technicians and Indefinite technicians assigned to the Minnesota Air National Guard Statewide (133rd Airlift Wing and 148th Fighter Wing) who were initially hired based on a posted job vacancy.
Area 3: Minnesota National Guard technicians who have not previously competed and traditional Minnesota National Guard members.
Area 4: National Guard technicians from other states and civilian persons eligible for membership in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
