Security Clearance: NACI
Performs a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping bulk and bin materials and equipment. Assists in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow. In larger warehouse facilities, the incumbent may participate in developing storage and space utilization plans in accordance with materials storage areas. Prepares items for processing, utilizing appropriate Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS) such as computer terminal and bar code reader to read, store, tract and prepare material documentation. Performs classification inspections for material within range of authority. Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within docking area. Prepares inventory and production reports, screens and identifies shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies, and directs shipments to shipping or storage areas. May be required to store hazardous materials. Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts and disposes of a wide variety of materials and property including electronic equipment, aircraft and automotive components and assemblies. SECURITY CLEARANCE : Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a NACI clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of the start date. Failure to make application for the required clearance will result in termination of employment.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using handtrucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other handtools; and to follow oral and written instructions.
Meeting months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of expereince, training or eduction must be demonstrated to show that applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must indicate 9 months of the following type of experience:
Experience in receiving, packaging and preparation for shipment, compilation of reports, and overall warehousing procedures.
Experience in setting up and rotating storage location considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.
Experience in performing inventory and inspections to determine servicabilty of stocked items.
Experience in interpreting and applying written instructions, reference materials, publications, and manuals.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience. Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. If education is being substituted for specialized experience, a college transcript must accompany the application or resume .

Knowledge of the overall warehousing plan, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques.
Knowledge of basic design and construction principles for the construction of standard and non-standard shipping and storage containers.
Ability to read or understand complex verbal or written instruction pertaining to warehousing duties, responsibilities and procedures.
Knowledge of transportation, security, environmental laws, and regulations in daily warehouse duties.
Knowledge of automation systems in daily operations.
Knowledge of various supply classes and distinguishing characteristics of similar classes.
Ability to identify materials and their condition.
Ability to route materials for technical review, storage, repair or disposal.
Knowledge of a wide variety of material to perform required research for item identification.
A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position.
Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position.
Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.
Note: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance may not be authorized for this position. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Government.
