NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED : This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS : Excepted Service Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (NTE E6/SSG)
WHO CAN APPLY :
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (NTE E6/SSG) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army and Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (NTE E6/SSG), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
MILITARY CRITERIA : Applicant must be qualified and eligible for award of an MOS as follows: CMF: 89, 91, 92; MOS: 88H, 88M, 88N, 88Z
MILITARY ASSIGNMENT : Applicant selected for this military technician position must occupy a military assignment in the Virginia Army National Guard that ensures proper grade, unit, and MOS prior to placement.

Must meet education/specialized experience--See Qualifications Section DUTIES:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Loads and unloads materials. Inspects and inventories materials for serviceability and quantity. Checks,assembles, and processes documents, and routes materials and equipment to correct locations or storage areas. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems. Loads and unloads shipments from trucks, rail cars, and other material conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, side loaders, and/or stacker cranes. May maintain property book and hand receipts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training demonstrating the ability to store, organize and/or rotate a variety of bin and bulk supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities. Familiar with basic warehouse procedures. Experience in determining quantities of inventory items. Experience in following oral and written instructions.

- Possess or be able to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance.
