Reports to the Manager/Supervisor Supply Management. Performs duties associated with hospital supply/equipment replenishment, distribution, receiving and outgoing mail, according to department procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Exemplifies the RML REACH (Service Excellence) culture by demonstrating respect, excellence, appreciation, concern and honor in all interactions with patients, families and co-workers, and as identified in departmental and hospital wide behavioral expectations.
Collects and scans patient charge cards into Meditech daily.
Conducts daily hand-held inventory sessions on units; downloads information into Meditech, and obtains picklist and lost charge reports.
Fills Meditech picklists daily from Stores inventory and delivers and puts stock away on units.
Inventories and replenishes dietary supplement stock on units daily.
Receives materials delivered by carriers to hospital. Checks quantities and units of measure with purchase order to ensure accuracy. Enters receiving information into Meditech. Delivers/disperses accordingly. Files signed receiving reports and/or packing lists in vendor files.
Delivers all non-purchase order items to using personnel/departments.
Collects and posts all outgoing mail from hospital. Brings posted mail to switchboard for postal pick-up. Maintains sufficient postage balance by utilizing postage-by-phone procedure.
Fills department requisitions from Stores inventory as needed.
Prints patient charge cards daily and delivers them to units.
Processes goods to be returned to vendors using UPS.
Stickers patient-chargeable items as needed.
Keeps all storerooms (main and units) neat and organized.
Assists with inventories as required
Skills and Abilities
- Organizes supplies.
- Counts supplies
- Enters counts into hand-held scanner.
- Helps compile data until inventory is complete.
Proficiency in reading, writing, basic math skills; basic typing and computer skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with healthcare Materials Management inventory software preferred.
Knowledge and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent and at least one (1) year of full-time work experience required. Some completed college course work and specific healthcare Materials Management inventory experience preferred.
Requires frequent walking, bending and lifting (approx. 75 pounds maximum). Infrequent exposure to inclement weather; may require working outside for brief periods of time. Is available as weekend back-up when needed.
