Under the direction of the Director of Perioperative Services, responsible for the management of administrative and business functions of surgical services and the operating room. This includes participation in fiscal management by managing the non-personnel budgeting process and ongoing reporting and reconciliation of expenditures. Provides analysis of departmental performance and participates with surgical leadership in process and cost improvement activities. Manages billing function for operating room and associated areas.

Responsible for processing special orders, i.e. implants, surgical supplies and instrumentation. Assists with coordination of all supply and instrumentation evaluations with Perioperative Services of the hospital or SurgiCenter and conveys results to the Perioperative Director for product change consideration. Primary responsibility it to ensure all physician and nursing supplier/equipment needs are met to provide patients with quality care in the operating room setting in a fiscally conservative manner.

Education and Experience : (please indicate minimum required to be hired in job)

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field requirements

Experience: Minimum 5 years in a Surgical Services environment. Proficient in computer application preferably Meditech Material Management in all its aspects. This includes, issuing purchase orders, and acquiring PT codes through Craneware. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment of Surgical Services, i.e. surgeons, vendors, staff. Strong sensitivity of confidential information.

High level of interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.

Exceptional customer services skills.

Must be able to communication effective with variety of audiences, orally and in writing.

Requires knowledge of fiscal management, specifically accounting and audit procedures and understanding of inventory management principles.

Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.

Ability to take initiative and meet objectives

Proficient in the use of spreadsheet presentation and word processing.

Schedule: 40 Hours per week; Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm
