Provides leadership and direction to the Supply Chain Team placing specific emphasis in the continuous efforts to improve all aspects of operations and material flow. Plans, directs, and coordinates the production planning, scheduling, and inventory control functions.
Provides the leadership required to develop and maintain consistent conformance to operating, quality, safety, security, and housekeeping procedures.
Proactively addresses operational issues in the areas of responsibility.
Works with plant management team to identify and drive operational improvements, cost reduction initiatives, process flow and inventory reduction.
Meets all operational and financial objectives as detailed in the Long Range Plan.
Drives departmental performance measures such as on-time delivery (customer and supplier) inventory accuracy, inventory turns, safety and cost reductions.
Ensures positive employee relations, providing coaching and direction to direct reports and department employees.

Develops and puts into effect approved policies, objectives and programs related to the flow and cost of services encompassing the functions of production and inventory control, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and material handling. The primary objectives are: world-class customer service, minimum inventory investment and maximum operating efficiency.
Monitors daily administrative activities of inventory control as well as the continuous improvements required to make these administrative roles more effective.
Performs production and inventory control functions which require a comprehensive understanding of equipment capacity and output capabilities together with machine utilization and staffing planning. This is necessary to schedule the plant and raw material.
Follows proper procedures and provides administration for labor reporting, bills of material, as well as routing and process sheets are essential for accurate records/cycle counting. Additionally, the Logistics Manager function requires an expertise in Kanban operations and EDI Communications with both customers and suppliers.
Participates, along with the other managers, in formulating and recommending changes to operating policies and procedures that directly affect return on investment or profits and unit goals and objectives. Stays abreast of new inventory and materials management techniques.
In order to achieve designated goals within this functional area, heavy reliance upon computer applications is essential. Applies the most current concepts and methods in the development and usage of material systems. Responsibilities also include sponsoring the necessary training and active participation in professional societies for the materials staff, thereby, upgrading levels of professionalism through plans and objectives.

Participates in the development of the annual and long-range budgets and strategies.
Manages staffing levels, headcount and overtime to cost effectively.
Maintains inventories at proper levels to optimize inventory investment.
Trains, develops, and supervises personnel to insure quality job performance.
Implements improved planning and scheduling techniques to increase productivity and efficiency.
Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other similar program. A MBA is highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years related work experience in the Supply Chain discipline; experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Must have excellent problem solving skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes required.
Professional verbal and written communication skills essential.
Must have highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft office products — Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Strong knowledge of SAP is required.
