Warren Pumps, a Colfax Company in Warren, MA, is seeking a Materials Manager to join our growing team. In this exciting role you will direct and coordinate activities engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies. Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Develops and installs clerical and office procedures and practices, and studies work flow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office machines.
Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Participate in the implementation and utilization of the CBS tools.
Manages associates in the materials and purchasing departments.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with five to seven years related experience.
Defense industry experience a plus
IFS experience a plus
KanBan experience is preferred
Must be a go-getter, with a “roll up your sleeves” personality
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
