General Summary:
A Materials Department Manager is responsible for the Purchasing and Materials Department ensuring and maintaining an inventory and purchase process suitable for meeting customer needs with respect to quality and cost-effectiveness.

Purchasing all direct and indirect materials for the plant, excluding maintenance supplies, tooling and capital project

Scheduling all production in work centers. Providing input into manning and capacity decision making

Managing supply based purchase orders, lead time, quality and conformance.

Sourcing and re-sourcing of purchased materials needed for current and future programs

Review and facilitate inventory discussions for obsolescence, revision, change, final buy and build out.

Participate in forecast, promotion and customer order discussion of consumer demand

Responsible for reviewing customer orders and/or sales forecasts to determine production run quantities and run dates that maximizes machine utilization, minimizes mold changes, minimize inventory and achieve customer satisfaction.

Monitor and oversee the purchase parts required and other components to support the schedule.

Supervision of Materials Coordinator

Help to achieve customer satisfaction and inventory goals established by Flambeau.

Qualify new vendors for purchasing and solicit competitive quotes as required.

Education and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent Materials Management experience in related industry
