Job Summary:
To manage the company's production scheduling, inventory control, procurement of raw materials, and the production support function of shipping and receiving (warehouse). Primary contact for processing customer orders and communicating schedules.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Provide daily supervision/leadership to a team of Warehouse Personnel, Material Handlers, and the CSR. Participate in decisions relating to the selection, promotion, transfer, compensation, and discipline of all assigned personnel. Evaluate their effectiveness and conduct performance reviews to encourage and reward improved performance. Provide on-the-job training and development for assigned employees. Clearly communicate work responsibility and authority so they may proceed with certainty in the performance of their duties. Work closely with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, customers, vendors, suppliers, and other outside professionals with whom the company deals. Initiate the development of the manufacturing and shipping schedules based on customer orders and forecasts. Procure adequate levels of raw materials to support manufacturing schedule based on customer orders and forecasts. Also procure component parts and MRO supplies. Work with production to ensure adequate material levels, usage, proper mixes, and grinding of runners and scrap parts. Organize materials and finished goods and store in an identified location system. Direct silo loading and documentation. Maintain lot traceability information. Manage and maintain a staging area for production to pull material. Maintain accurate and timely updates of production/inventory control records, material receipts, issues, and adjustments. Oversee the inventory cycle counting process and coordinate necessary adjustments with Finance. Identify and communicate any problems or opportunities for improvement in raw material usage, the material handling system, inventory control, etc. Ensure staff visibility of customer requirements, forecasts, priorities and/or unique needs. Inform immediate supervisor of new customer requirements or situations that might prevent the company from meeting the customer's mandated requirements. Maintain a high level of customer contact. Assure the ability to accommodate changing requirements while minimizing manufacturing disruptions. This includes collaboration with all plant functions to ensure proper staffing and scheduling. Maintain a high level of communication with suppliers. Good supplier relationship is crucial! Negotiate supplier cost reduction/containment as a means to achieve cost reductions for the company. Participate in strategic planning, standard work, and any other projects as assigned. Prepare and manage departmental budget. Initiate corrective action as required and assist key personnel in the resolution of problems. Actively participate as a member of the management team. Ensure that proper information flows to support defined goals and objectives. Submit a monthly narrative (on time) and any other reports as requested by your immediate supervisor. Maintain and promote a safe and hazard free work environment. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines. This includes wearing personal protective equipment as required (ie: eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, gowns, hair nets, etc.) Lead daily morning production meetings. Be capable of working overtime as required. Routine daily maintenance of work area to ensure that it is neat, clean, and organized to the approval of your immediate supervisor. Understand, promote, and be actively involved in 5S, kaizen events, and other lean manufacturing efforts. activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of ATEK Plastics' policies and procedures Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Excellent budgetary and time management skills – the ability to multi-task Strong leadership presence with a management style that supports teamwork, empowerment, creativity and communication Strong working knowledge of production planning, inventory control principles and practices with a general understanding of accounting manufacturing systems and procedures Working knowledge of QAD
Education, Certification and Experience: Experience in Lean Manufacturing Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management; Industrial Engineering or related A minimum of 5 years work related experience

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Some duties will be performed in an office setting. Some duties are performed in a manufacturing plant, which can be hot in summer, cold in winter, hazardous, noisy and dusty. Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Work also requires walking, bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, pushing, pulling, and reaching. This position may also require occasional visits to outside professionals in an environment over which ATEK Plastics/Vention has no control.
