The Logistics Specialist 5 will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
Expedite and track material flow to maintain rhythm between manufacturing and Sourcing ensuring COE Customer focus and Inventory goals are met

Design, develop and maintain material process flow

Create and maintain tracking system to enable growth, process improvements and digitization processes through Lean / Six Sigma practices

Work close with Sourcing and Supply base to maintain good communication and material flow for incoming material

Generate and administer work orders related to the project

Verify and promote the follow up of all the work orders, to assure on time deliveries

Participate actively with the product teams (assigned) and with the Engineering department, to ensure on time deliveries including specifications of the components

Facilitate the collection and analysis of data to effectively measure and report performance to internal customer base

Identify and implement saving opportunities related to cycle time reduction, productivity improvements, and digitization initiatives

Supervise day-to-day activity and performance of various third Party Logistics providers

Identify and implement saving opportunities related to cycle time reduction, productivity improvements, and digitization initiatives

Provide manufacturing leadership through implementation and ongoing process improvement of end-to-end logistics solutions supported by third Party Logistics providers

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

At least 3 additional years of experience in manufacturing processes such as Lean Manufacturing

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Strong ability in computer systems including Mfg Production Systems

Prior experience in lean manufacturing

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Strong organizational and problem solving skills

Sound knowledge in ERP, working knowledge in SAP / MRPII or Oracle a definite asset

Ability to coordinate multiple priorities at one time

Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily

Knowledge of shop operations, facilitations, production control, manufacturing or materials functions

Familiar with production control systems and routines

Knowledge of Bill of Material (BOM) Structures

Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team

Prior MRP or Sourcing Experience

Ability to foster a team environment and drive change

Understanding and application of inclusiveness between all departments

Strong project management skills
