Basic Function and Scope of the Position:
Under moderate supervision coordinates and consolidates domestic and international activity to support order fulfillment. Primary responsibilities are to provide support in Logistics and Materials for all product lines and to coordinate shipments to customers. These job duties will be performed in compliance with established global standard procedures. Helps plan, schedule, and coordinate the supply, material flow, and storage of inventory from the supplier to the customer throughout the order fulfillment process. Ensures lowest cost transportation by the analysis of company and customer needs, researching transportation methods and auditing carrier costs. Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses. Maintains logs and compiles information on routes, rates and services on various vendors.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Review picklist daily and proactively expedite/facilitate material movement in support of daily shipments.
• Responsible for releasing work orders for picking and packing shipments.
• Coordinate with Customer Support, Materials and Shipping to determine availability of product and facilitate the shipment of daily unplanned orders to meet urgent customer requests.
• Research and prepare required shipping documents for unplanned orders. Coordinate shipments with carriers and perform data entry functions utilizing carrier specific systems.
• Address Customer Support, Field Service and production inquires and follow direction to resolve issues.
• Generate reports and complete special projects as assigned. Provide performance reports as necessary.
• Acquire and maintain a clear understanding of the technologies utilized in Illumina’s products, parts, and services.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all departments contacted in the course of work.
• Coordinate with Customer Support, Materials and Shipping to determine availability of product and facilitate the shipment of daily unplanned orders to meet urgent customer requests.
• Allocate inventory and follow up on shortages when required
• Trace and track shipments and resolve transit and customs delays
• Assist in mode optimization or cost reduction initiatives in transportation
• Interacts with vendors and peers in Manufacturing, Production Planning, Customer Service and Finance to fulfill customer orders
• Develops basic understanding of the technologies utilized in Illumina’s products, parts and services.

Preferred Education and Background:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
• Familiar with GMP's and ISO regulated environment s
• 3-5 years related experience, preferably in a life sciences manufacturing environment with temperature sensitive products.
• Experience preparing import/export shipping documents and coordinating international shipments and shipping temperature controlled material (dry ice) is desired.
• Strong leadership skills, with excellent communication skills and 3-5 years of materials or logistics experience
• Working computer literacy using an ERP system, spreadsheet and word processing software, inventory control and work order procedures are required (JDE preferred).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
• Ability to execute basic analysis and resolve minor problems independently.
• Excellent math skills, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs to a 36-inch height.
