Job Introduction Under the direction of the Maerials Superintendent, plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to shopr floor materials activities, incluuding safety, quality, productivity and employee relations. Supervises the materials department’s Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers, and forklift drivers.

Major Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs and coordinates all inbound, outbound movement of material within the assigned business unit. Ensures that appropriate materiarl is delivered in sequence to the assembly line.
  • Assists the Materials Superintendent in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements.
  • Keeps trailer storage locations organized and maintains the trailer inventory and location.
  • Maintains 5S housekeeping standards
  • Assists in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation.
  • Participates and leads process improvement projects
  • Trains new and transferred employees on their job duties and responsibilities; and cross trains as necessary.
  • Ensures employees are adhering to standardized work processes and rotation schedules

Knowledge and Education High school diploma. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team oriented, communicates well with others. Excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines. Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Experience Minimum of two (2) years of materials supervisory experience or a minimum of five (5) years of materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive facility. Seating experience preferred.
