Currently, the Clyde Division of Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Materials Supervisor position. This supervisor will be responsible for the planning functions of purchase parts from the supply base. This position will lead and manage the planning activities in accordance with identified company goals to obtain optimum efficiency, economy of operations and maximize profits. This would include initiatives of departmental budget, cost, HPU, safety and delivery.

Role Expectations:
  • Provide optimum purchased material availability in the support of planned production levels and inventory goals;
  • Provide support and decision making on issues as they arise;
  • Develop, document and implement new or improved material planning processes including training of affected personnel by using interaction management skills;
  • Use of MRP, inventory management and lean manufacturing tools and techniques;
  • Ability to maintain manageable and cost effective levels of inventory;
  • Responsibilty for directing departmental associates and providing motivation through management methods including performance appraisal and goal setting.
    What You Need To Succeed:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Materials Management or related field preferred;
    • Systems knowledge for material planning and replenishment;
    • Effective interpersonal skills and knowledge of plant policies and procedures;
    • Basic knowledge of plant operations;
    • Self-motivated;
    • Ability to work unsupervised and independently or in a team environment;
    • Knowledge of product and production parts;
    • Good decision making and judgment skills;
    • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks;
    • Outstanding organization, communication and leadership skills;
    • Proven creative problem solving techniques and lean thinking;
    • Working knowledge of PC based software, Luas & Clark and mainframe applications (PATS, SAP, AAPS, MRP, EDI, ASN, MPS);
    • Exceptional presentation skills;
    • A strong desire to learn and succeed.
