We are currently seeking Math Test Development Specialists to join our content teams in Chicago, IL or Washington, DC.


The Math Test Development Specialist will work with the rest of the Math Content Team on test development projects across a variety of assessment programs. As a Math Test Development Specialist, you will write, review, and revise test items based on their fairness and content; resolve team and client feedback on test items at individual meetings and group review sessions; help senior staff recruit, train, and manage internal and external item writers; draft training materials for item writers; assemble test item pools as directed by senior staff; attend client committee meetings in which stakeholders review the fairness and content of test items; assemble field test and operational test forms, working with technical staff to meet content and statistical specifications; resolve client feedback on test forms as directed by senior staff during blackline and blueline review, prior to print; participate in constructed-response scoring activities to help identify exemplar student responses, monitor scorer training, and audit scoring sessions; assist technical staff at client committee meetings in which stakeholders review statistical data of administered test forms; assist senior staff in the management of test item pools.


Qualified candidates will hold an M.A. or M.S. in Mathematics, Math Education, or related field, Ph.D. preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience resulting in comparable subject area expertise is acceptable. Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience teaching or working in educational measurement. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with others.

Required travel for this position ranges from 4 weeks to 8 weeks per year. Candidates should be able to travel as required for 1 to 2 weeks at a time, especially in the summer.
