The Meat Cutter is responsible for the preparation and selling of meat department products, proper display, rotation, sanitary handling of the product, overall cleanliness in the department, and the completion of various assigned tasks under the direction of the Meat Manager. This position also requires wrapping, cleaning up at the end of the day and maintenance of the fresh meat case. Readily shares their knowledge and passion for food with our customers. A strong desire to learn the meat cutting trade as a career is required.
Willing to learn the preparation procedures for all meat department products.
Well developed product knowledge (variety, preparation etc) of various cuts of meat and meat department products.
Ability to work independently; a self-motivated worker with a strong desire to perform meat cutting as a career.
A willingness to actively participate in training programs and professional development.
Ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Current Food Handler card.
