Specific Job Description
As an Associate Mechanic on the MRAP program you will be based in Afghanistan and may work on all of the following types of vehicles: light or heavy duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle. Duties include:
•Maintenance support of operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level
•Effective application of industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components
Standard Job Description
Inspects, repairs, and maintains functional parts of a variety of automotive equipment and machinery such as automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, forklifts, and buses. Diagnoses faulty operations using motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and factory manuals. Disassembles and overhauls engines, transmissions, clutches, generators, starters, differentials, distributors, alternators, pumps, and other assemblies using standard automotive hand and power tools.
