•2 plus years of experience
•Proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.
•Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters
•Mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills to diagnose, align, and repair failed and damaged systems.
•Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems. Vocational, Technical, Military formal certificates of training in a related maintenance field shall be substituted for equivalent years of experience.
•Areas of experience may be with light or heavy duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle

Specific Job Description
As an Associate Mechanic on the MRAP program you will be based in Afghanistan and may work on all of the following types of vehicles: light or heavy duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle. Duties include:

•Maintenance support of operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level
•Effective application of industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components

Standard Job Description
Inspects, repairs, and maintains functional parts of a variety of automotive equipment and machinery such as automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, forklifts, and buses. Diagnoses faulty operations using motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and factory manuals. Disassembles and overhauls engines, transmissions, clutches, generators, starters, differentials, distributors, alternators, pumps, and other assemblies using standard automotive hand and power tools. Replaces worn or broken parts; grinds valves; adjusts brakes; tightens body bolts; aligns wheels; repairs wiring; and adjusts lights. Typically requires completion of a formal training program.
