The Mechanic will complete assemblies by determining specifications; assembling parts, components, and sub-assemblies; completing quality checks. In this role, you will plan work; complete, verify, and package assembly. You will also, repair assemblies, keeps tools, and equipment operating. You will provide assembly information; maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment; improve quality results; control costs; update job knowledge; enhance manufacturing and organization reputation.

Essential Responsibilities
• Be able to utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding and material handling equipment
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability or willingness to take classes in Team Building, willing to undergo on-the-job training to learn specific skills/tasks,
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in and take training on Basic Safety courses (PPE, Chemical Hazard, Evacuation & Emergency Training, etc.)
• Be able to read and complete forms and generate meaningful reports and charts
  • Plan work by studying blueprints and specifications; gathering supplies and parts
  • Complete assembly by fitting and adjusting parts; completing sub-assemblies; wiring components
  • Verify assembly by completing quality tests
  • Repair assemblies by determining problems; replacing or correcting parts
  • Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs
  • Provide assembly & overhaul information by maintaining logs
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
  • Improve quality results by recommending design and process changes
  • Control costs by conserving use of equipment and supplies
  • Enhance manufacturing and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year Experience handling material-oriented production and purchasing problems
    • Ability and willingness to work on an off shift
    • Ability and willingness to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
    • Ability and willingness to lift up to 25 pounds repetitively and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds non-repetitive and occasionally lift over 100 pounds with assistance
    • Ability and willingness to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust or fumes (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels-PEL)
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Desired Characteristics
    • Mechanical experience in a manufacturing and/or aerospace environment
    • Vocational training in wood working, automotive, composites, aerospace, hydraulics or similar experience
    • Excellent attendance and punctuality history
    • History of accepting or giving constructive criticism
    • Flexible for various shift assignments and overtime
  • Speaks clearly and effectively in a variety of settings
  • Experience directing, controlling, and coordinating product material, ordering, and releasing manufacturing orders
  • Knowledge of Continuous Flow Manufacturing
  • Understands tooling equipment, tooling processes, and industrial trends
  • Coordinates communications, meetings, and activities among multiple groups or organizations
  • Proficient at in-bound, pick, pack, ship, and inventory control
  • Has effective organizational skills
  • Keeps files and work area organized
  • Has a solid understanding of the job and its duties and responsibilities
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner
