The Mechanical Design Engineer is part of the Product Development team.
•Design and development of mechanical and electrical sub-systems and components.
•2-D (AutoCad) and 3-D (Pro/Engineer) design of sheet metal, plastic, die cast, machined parts, and a variety of purchased parts.
•Test and develop components to meet performance, reliability, and agency requirements.
•Write, review, and improve technical publications, test procedures and product specification.
•Release and maintain product bill of materials.
•Support production as needed.
•Assigned to teams to develop products from concept to production using structured qualification plans.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Minimum 0-2 years of design engineering related experience.
•Experience in the design and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, especially in the area of fluid flow, thermal systems, motors and drives, bearings, controls, etc.
Skills and Abilities:
•Pro/Engineer and Wind-chill experience.
•Familiar with Family Tables, Large Assembly Management, Sheet Metal, and Plastics/Castings, use and understanding of relations, layering.
•Appliance Industry Experience desired.
•Hands on contributor with strong written and oral communication skills.
•Good working knowledge of PC applications.
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
•Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
