Mechanical Design/Industrial Design Engineer

MNR Technology seeks a 3D design engineer proficient in SolidWorks and/or Pro/ENGINEER solid modeling to work at their Newfields, NH facility. MNR Technology is a leading human-machine interface design, development and manufacturing company that sells and distributes internationally.

Responsibilities:
As Mechanical Design/Industrial Design Engineer, you will have numerous responsibilities, which include:

  • Creating innovative new product designs from concept to production
  • Working with sales/marketing and customers to understand and document product development requirements
  • Maintaining project logs and engineering status and task reports
  • Leading weekly status meetings
  • Issuing interoffice project-related communication (via email), including meeting summaries and engineering-related notices in a timely manner
  • Conducting client project design reviews, indentifying design-related issues and suggesting corrective actions to improve design and manufacturing
  • Making, reviewing and approving design/engineering drawings and drafting activities
  • Evaluating, validating and approving design and drawing ECO changes
  • Managing and directing the daily workload of the engineering tech personnel
  • Coordinating in-house prototype builds, including the testing, evaluating and issuing of project reports
  • Maintaining standards for technical drawings, internal specifications and related engineering documentation
  • Overseeing, controlling and supporting introduction of new and existing projects at Asian and domestic manufacturing facilities with concise direction and problem-solving related to fabrication, assembly and testing

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Pro/ENGINEER solid modeling, photo-realistic rendering and plastic mold flow analysis
  • Proficiency in 3D design of plastic parts, silicon rubber keypads, graphic overlays, membrane switch, flexible etch circuits, cable assemblies, sheet metal and assemblies of any or all items listed
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and PCB design (to 4 layers) with experience in PCB PADS software, conversion to Gerber files (both directions) and schematic creation
  • Experience with compression and injection molding practices, silicone and plastic materials, and injection tooling flow analysis
  • Experienced team member capable of joint decision making related to client and manufacturing issues
  • Independent, able to work directly with clients with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate complicated subjects written and verbally
  • Domestic and international travel as required
