Alstom Grid-the leader in providing software and services to the Electric Industry has an opening for a Mechanical Designer in it's Charleroi, PA location.
Responsibilities would include the following:
Apply solid understanding of industry standards of function and application of high voltage switchgear to create standard and order specific installation and manufacturing documents.
Analyze customer specifications and communicate through channels and directly with customers to assure requirements are understood and deliverables meet customer expectations.
Apply state-of-the-art tools and utilize design standards (common parts, standard component specifications, etc) to optimize work efficiency and manufacturing cost.
Work closely with Alstom Grid Product Engineering and R&D units and external suppliers to optimize product quality and cost.
Attend engineering and production reviews in order to produce error free designs and reliable products, to reduce the cost of non-quality and to ensure adequate performance of the Unit.
Analyze and resolve manufacturing and field related problems.
Creating concepts and drawings of world class, for cost effective, high quality and reliable design of disconnect switches based on industry and customer specifications.

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Assocaites degree AND
- 3-5 years of related experinece
