Supports technical investigations. Develops technical concepts. Performs engineering calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), equipment design and detailing using CAD. Manages projects from concept to installation. Supports technical installation.
Utilizes CAD to model and detail equipment/tooling. Works with other team members on project activities and attends meetings. Supports design issues on manufacturing floor. Supports installation activities and performs investigations on production equipment (requires travel to production locations).
Zero to two years engineering experience in mechanical or tool design.
Basic background in mechanical or tool design. Familiar with performing engineering calculations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong investigation and analytical skills.
Ability to work with all levels of management, vendors and customers.
Ability to make and follow plans/schedules.
Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Familiar with CAD software.
CATIA V5 experience.
Machine or tool design experience.
Project management experience.
Equipment troubleshooting experience.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills.
Technical presentation skills.
Delmia (robot simulation) experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology with four years experience or six years of tooling design experience if non-degreed.
Must be able to travel to production facilities. Ability to support various shifts on short term and on as needed basis. Must be willing to work hands-on with equipment. Willingness to work daily overtime and some weekends.
